From Teaching 2 Students to 2 lakh students and Founding LIT

In the year 2003, a young and passionate teacher named Susant K. Rout began his journey — not in a grand classroom, but with just two students, Sonali and Monali. His mission was simple — to teach C programming with depth, clarity, and a heart full of dedication.

But what started with two students soon began to grow. His unique teaching pedagogy, his love for logic, and his commitment to true learning attracted more and more learners. From 2 to 8, from 8 to 16, and within just five years, his classes were filled with over 500 students per batch, and six batches every day! . During this journey, he didn’t stop. He penned several programming books, published by leading national publishers like TMH, PHI, and Vikas Publishing House — inspiring learners across India.

Then came the turning point — in 2016, he founded Lakshya Institute of Technology (LIT) in Bhubaneswar — a college dedicated to Computer Science, Data Science, ITM, and BCA. And by 2025, LIT proudly launched its +2 Science College, opening doors for the next generation of learners.  Today, what once began as “I” has transformed into a powerful “We.” LIT now stands as a temple of learning — built on nine divine principles: Satya, Prem, Seva, Shakti, Bhakti, Utki, Tan, Man, and Dhan. With our guiding mantra — “Learn, Implement, and Earn,” we continue to empower minds and transform lives. Because every big journey… begins with just one step — and sometimes, just two students.
