Artificial intelligence (AI) is a branch of computer science that enables machines to do human work and task such as visual perception, human intelligence, speech recognition and decision making etc. like human being. AI algorithms are designed such that it can learn from human experience and adopt new information allowing systems to continuously improve their performance over time. It has tremendous potential to revolutionize various industries including health care, finance & insurance, transportation and entertainment and many more, by automating the process towards enhancing productivity everywhere.

Machine learning (ML) is subset of AI. It focuses on developing algorithms that automatically improve to make predictions based on information / data without being explicitly programmed. Deep learning (DL) is another sub-field of ML, that uses artificial neural networks to model and understand complex data pattern, inspired by structure and function of human brain.

The future of AI holds immense possibilities, from personalized healthcare and improved decision making to more efficient systems. Therefore AI is one of the most exciting fields of study for computer science and IT students for bright and rewarding career. Students from LIT are therefore in a much advantageous situations.
