Step-By-Step guide to buy a domain + hosting from Hostinger and get your site live

Steps

  1. Go to Hostinger — open hostinger.com (choose your country/IN site if in India).

  1. Choose a hosting plan
    • On the Web Hosting or WordPress Hosting page pick a plan (Single, Premium, Business).
    • Note: most yearly Premium/Business plans include 1 year free domain — a good value if you plan 12+ months.
  2. Select billing period & any add-ons
    • Choose 12/24/48 months for best discounts; add domain privacy or daily backups if you want. Click Select and Checkout.
  3. Search & add your domain
    • During checkout you’ll see domain search. Type your desired name and choose an available TLD (.com/.in/.xyz).
    • If you bought an annual plan with free domain, claim it at this stage (or later from hPanel → Domains.
  4. Create Hostinger account
    • Sign up (email or social). Verify email if prompted.
  5. Complete payment
    • Enter payment details and finish checkout. Save the invoice and note the renewal price and auto-renew settings.
  6. Claim & verify domain ownership
    • If domain was included, go to hPanel → Domains → Claim domain / Register. Complete the WHOIS/contact details and email verification per Hostinger’s instructions.

 

  1. Access your hosting dashboard (hPanel)
    • After purchase open hPanel → Websites → Select your hosting → Manage. This is where you control everything.
  2. Install WordPress (one-click Auto Installer)
    • In hPanel go to Auto Installer → choose WordPress → fill site name, admin user and password → Install. Hostinger provides an onboarding flow too.
  3. Point domain to hosting (if domain is external)
    • If domain bought elsewhere, update DNS to Hostinger nameservers (found in hPanel → DNS/Nameservers) or use domain forwarding. If domain was bought with your plan, it’s usually auto-linked.
  4. Enable SSL
    • In hPanel enable the free SSL certificate (Let’s Encrypt) — SSL activates HTTPS and is important for security and SEO.
  5. Final checks
    • Visit your domain, log into WordPress (yourdomain.com/wp-admin), choose a theme, and publish a test page. Confirm SSL and email (if you set up email) work.
